The Orchid Man
Jack has been growing orchids in his backyard for 30 of his 84 years. He keeps fit by working in the garden and riding his bicycle. “I like to get outside,” says Jack, “Coming down to my greenhouse and looking after the orchids is relaxing.”
Jack is fit and healthy, but “My wife had a major operation recently. I was so worried that I lost a lot of weight. I had to drive up to the hospital each day in the traffic it was a stressful time. The nurses always made sure I had a meal when I was at the hospital that really got me through. Now Betty is well again, thank heavens, and things are back to normal.”
